Swiss International Airlines is the national air carrier in Switzerland serving 76 destinations all over the world from its base at the airports of Zurich, Geneva and Basel. Swiss owns 77 aircrafts of the latest technology and is a member of the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance. Swiss Airlines cooperates with all airline companies that are members of Star Alliance, such as Lufthansa, Adria Airways, Air Canada, Air One, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Qatar Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, SN Brussels Airlines, South African Airways and Spanair. It also has a wide network of associates besides airline companies, such as rental car companies like Avis and Europcar. All flights fly through the airports of Geneva or Zurich. From and to the airport of Basel flights depart to only certain destinations in Europe such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belgrade, Brussels, Budapest, London (City Airport), Manchester, Prague, Warsaw, Zurich, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna.

You can purchase your air tickets following the simple steps of the booking procedure. After the successful completion of your booking you will receive an e-mail confirmation stating the number of your electronic tickets and an SMS with the same number and the information regarding your flight. The number of your electronic tickets along with a valid passport or id and a visa (wherever this is required) are all you need at the airport in order to receive your boarding card! Swiss Baggage Rules

  • All passengers of Swiss International Airlines are allowed to carry 2 pieces of hand baggage with dimensions 55cm*40cm*20cm and 8kg each.
  • Economy Class passengers can carry 20kg of free baggage. First Class passengers can carry up to 40kg of free baggage on all Swiss flights.
  • On transatlantic flights of Swiss to the USA, Canada and the Caribbean, Economy Class passengers are allowed to carry 2 pieces of baggage (23kg each), while First Class passengers can carry 2 pieces of 32kg each.

Swiss Services

  • Check-in: Passengers can check-in electronically using the number of the electronic ticket and the surname of the passenger. Web check-in takes place between 23 hours and 1 hour before the departure of the flight. At the same time there is also the option of self service check-in at all airports that have the special kiosks for the specific service.
  • The Frequent Flyer Program of Swiss has now merged with the Frequent Flyer Program of Lufthansa, Miles & More and thus, program members can collect miles from both air companies and enjoy the same privileges!
