The airline company Thai Airways International is based at the airport of Bangkok. There are 12 destinations within Thailand that Thai serves along with 3 destinations in the Middle East, 45 in Asia and the Pacific Ocean, 1 in North America (Los Angeles) and 12 in Europe.
In 1997, Thai became a member of the airline alliance Star Alliance. Thus the number of destinations it served increased significantly and Thai began operating flights with other partner airlines such as Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines, bmi, Egyptair, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, South African Airways, Spanair, Swiss International Airlines, TAP Portugal Airlines, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.

After the successful completion of your booking you will receive an e-mail confirmation stating the number of your electronic tickets and an SMS with the same number and the information regarding your flight. The number of your electronic tickets along with a valid passport or id and a visa (wherever this is required) are all you need at the airport in order to receive your boarding card! Thai Baggage Regulations

  • All passengers of Thai Airways are allowed to carry 1 piece of hand baggage which should not exceed 7kg and shall not exceed 115cm in total dimensions.
  • In Economy Class of Thai Airways, passengers can carry up to 20kg baggage for free. In Business Class passengers are allowed to carry up to 30kg baggage for free and in First Class free baggage allowance is 40kg.

  • Check-in: Check-in is available from 3h up to 40min before the departure of the flight. In order to avoid waiting in queues, you can check-in online, via the website of Thai. The Icheck-in is available starting 24h up to 2h before the flight departure. For passengers departing from any airport in Thailand, check-in can also take place at the special self-service check-in kiosks at the airport (5h up to 30min before the flight departure).
  • The Frequent Flyer Program of Thai Airways is called Royal Orchid Plus. Thai, as a member of Star Alliance, is also cooperating with its partner airlines in terms of collecting miles. As a result, members of the Thai frequent flyer program can not only collect miles when travelling on Thai flights but also on any partner airline flight.
